Admirals would take the field first in what was sure to be a nailbiter. Riding high after winning the first game of the series The Admirals would get on the board quickly scoring 5 runs in the top of the first.

The Dbacks would bend but not break, knowing they must stay within striking distance of the hard hitting New Castle Admirals if the had any chance of prolonging their post season.

By the 3rd inning the Dbacks were able to chip away and eventually take a small 2 run lead. As luck would have it close calls would start to go the Dbacks way(surely the arrival of CSP President Len Healy had something to do with it)

With Momentum quickly shifting, two things happened 1. outfielder Karl Boyd hit his first jack of the season and a no doubter it was 2. Pat Shirbon hit for the cycle, first one of the Dbacks season.
"No slamming of cupboards tonight" said Heather Roder after the game- maybe just a slight headache from the screeching cheer

Unfortunately it did not take The Admirals long to regain composure as well as the lead, This time The Dbacks would get last crack at the bats, needing 1 to tie or 2 to win and even up the series one a piece. The first three batters would all reach, the bases loaded and no out.

Long time Admiral Mitch Dunn would take charge, and went for a Five man infield. With the winning run on 3rd, Miguel Desilets smacked one into center to win the game. Surely the biggest hit of his long and illustrious career.

"Touch 'em all, Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!" comes to mind

rumour has it Karl Boyd called his wife immediately after the game, some even say for a brief second he smiled.

The Diamondbacks and Admirals will meet one final time in 2020 to see who will take the crown, but what must be on everyones mind... Will Graham Crouse throw his cleats in the garbage and quit before the last game of the season like he did just two short years ago???
